Approaching G-d while Unrepentant

That's a big question: can we approach G-d while in sin? What happens and why?

Starting with the Torah's purity laws, I consider the issue of Spiritual Cleanness and compare it to mitzvah P6, the regulations for ministering priests. The Temple was a building of bricks and mortar, but how we enter G-d's presence today is just as important.
