I want to teach you another Hebrew word. You won't use this one much in modern Israel. The word is Parochet and it means curtain, veil, or covering. It is described like this in Exodus 26:31 "Make a fine woven linen curtain of blue, purple and scarlet, with cheruvim. It is to be the work of a skillful craftsman."
Did you even wonder why these colors are selected? What do we know about scarlet? Isaiah had something to say about this. Isaiah 1:18 "'Come now, let us reason together,' says Adonai. 'Though your sins be like scarlet, they will be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they will become like wool.'" Scarlet represents our sins which separate us from God, the veil separates us from the presence of God.
Then there is blue. Blue represents the law of God. (It is only by the Law that we know what sin is.) Numbers 15:38-40 "Speak to Bnei-Yisrael. Say to them that they are to make for themselves tzitzit on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and they are to put a blue cord on each tzitzit. It will be your own tzitzit - so whenever you look at them, you will remember all the mitzvot of Adonai and do them and not go spying out after your own hearts and your own eyes, prostituting
yourselves. This way you will remember and obey all My mitzvot and you will be holy to your God."
Lastly, the color purple. Purple is the royal color. In ancient times only royalty could wear purple. We are called a kingdom of priests. Exodus 19:6 "'So as for you, you will be to Me a kingdom of kohanim and a holy nation.' These are the words which you are to speak to Bnei-Yisrael."
These king/priests are royal intercessors. It is the purple that forms the bridge between the crimson and the blue; and isn’t that how we make purple?
This is the parochet that was torn from the top to the bottom when Yeshua died on the cross. Mark 15:38 "Then the curtain of the Temple was split in two, from top to
bottom." This symbolized that access was now available. What separated us from the presence of God, no longer has that power over us.
John 8:36 "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed!
