How to Get a Double Portion

We sometimes think that each generation must stand on its own feet, take its own decisions and move forward from what has gone before. I don't think this is correct.

Neither generation can fulfill its mandate without the other.

The destiny of Elijah and Elisha were both intertwined. They were similar figures: miracle workers, raisers of the dead and founts of olive oil; yet they were different in character and calling.
